Job interviews are extremely crucial to anyones career. They define who you are as a professional and reflect your personality as a person. It's because of this that interviews are nerve wracking and require knowledge in order to be done correctly. The knowledge that needs to be known includes proper attire, behavior, and social skills are a few.

Every thought and detail that goes into an interview is crucial and important to success. There area many details that go into a successful job interview. Proper attire is one of the very important elements in an interview. The way you dress can cost you a position; so dressing for an interview is serious (Doran). What is recommended is that you dress conservatively. It is also considered that being overdressed is much better than underdressed (Doyle).

Another recommendation is that if you know the type of dress that is associated with the position you " re applying for try to dress appropriate for that position. When going to an interview you should go well informed about the company. Researching the company beforehand is suggested so you know more about the company (Doran). Information that should be researched is salary, benefit options, and maybe promotion policies. Researching the hiring process is also another option. Research the company and find out if their work environment is what you " re looking for.

The major part of interviewing is of course the questions the interviewer or employer asks you. The key to answering questions is to be confident and know yourself as a professional (Doyle). Never lie or avoid questions. Be honest. Know what your strengths and skills are as well as your weaknesses or skills you may not have.

You should be confident in your abilities as well as what you don't know so that an employer can see that you are willing to learn new skills for a job (Doran). When being questioned, one should also be relaxed. Nervous language and body movements should be avoided. The goal to answering questions is to be relaxed, confident, and knowledgeable.

A job interview can be very nerve wracking if not well prepared.
