Tattoo Parlor My Whole Party example essay topic

"Ouch!" I exclaimed as I looked at my hand. "That's the third time the stick poked me", I said to my boyfriend, Phillip. I had working on the never ending swish kabob project for over 2 hours and wasn't even half way finished. I had partied the night before, and running on four hours of sleep wasn't helping.

I sat in the uncomfortable wooden chair assembling the kabobs thinking about how unfair it was I had to decorate and prepare food for my own graduation celebration party. I wasn't the only one working though. Outside the tent men finally arrived to construct the giant party tent. I laughed to myself when I saw the plastic yellow and white striped tent and wondered if the neighbors thought we were selling firecrackers in the backyard. The drizzling rain was making the job more challenging for them, no doubt. "Well so much for a beautiful luau", I said twirling the scratchy flower lei that hung around my neck.

My thoughts were interrupted by the door opening. "Oh, no! I thought as I franticly tried to finish hanging the metallic palm tree. Some of my family members had arrived. They all looked full of color and very festive, sticking to the Hawaiian luau theme. Everyone greeted me, handed me some kind of card or present, and Baldwin 2 complemented the decorations.

The decorations definitely added to the fun atmosphere, and the smell of my kabobs filled the air. "At least I didn't have to cook them", I thought as I saw my dad at the barbeque, surrounded my all the men holding cold cans of beer in their hands. I stood still for a second, blinded by all the cameras, when Phillip came up to me. "Hey, Jac, I was talking to Jason about getting a tattoo, and he said he'd take me tonight, maybe", he explained. "No, Phillip, this is my night. How long does a tattoo take anyway?" I asked.

"I don't know. An hour maybe", Phillip replied. "Well, ok, but don't get anything stupid I have to look at the rest of my life", I joked. He kissed me on the cheek and dashed off. I really didn't think it was a big deal for him and Jason to leave my party for maybe an hour. I really wanted to go, but thought it'd be rude to leave my own party.

When it was time to cut the beautifully decorated orange and black cake, only a hand full of people were left. I was really confused, "Where did everyone go?" I thought. Even my own mother was gone. As a piece of the bright sugary cake was passed to me, I was told they went to see Phillip get his tattoo. "My party left me to go to some tattoo parlor? -- - my whole party left me?" I thought as I tried to let the words sink in. The once yummy cake looked like a pile of nasty fluff to me now.

I felt very alone and hurt. I sunk into the cushions of the fluffy sofa, and picked up the remote control to the T.V. Three hours, or six T.V. shows, later my party finally returned. Everyone was chatty about who almost got something pierced, and how Phillip didn't even flinch. Then Phillip Baldwin 3 walked over to me with an excited grin on his face. I new he wanted me to be eager to see what tattoo he had gotten, so I acted very uninterested. I looked at his swollen upper arm, looking not at all impressed.

Little spots of blood covered the w ripply muscles of a scary looking dog with sharp teeth "It looks like a bulldog on steroids". I said snottily. The rest of the night consisted of the men outside, drinking beer, the women sitting inside sipping on wine coolers, and me sitting in my car sending text messages to my best friend, Cori, with my cell phone. I sat in the driver seat of my green 1997 Ford Mustang, and thought that maybe it was silly of me to think that everyone should worship me for a whole day.

Just graduating high school, a new chapter of my life was beginning to unfold. It takes people a life time to grow up, but it only took me those three hours.
