Space Shuttle Columbia Moves to VABSpace Shuttle Columbia rolled out of the Orbiter Processing Facility and into the Vehicle Assembly Building on Wednesday at Kennedy Space Center, Fla. Columbia is slated to launch no earlier than Feb. 28 to begin STS-109, which is also known as Hubble Space Telescope Servicing Mission 3 B. While in the in the Vehicle Assembly Building, or VAN, the orbiter will be connected to the External Tank. Over the weekend, the mono ball interface will be connected between the tank and orbiter. Then, on Monday, technicians will perform the Shuttle Interface Test.
Columbia is slated to roll out to Launch Pad 39 A later next week.
