Urbana University Registration When I came to register for my classes at Urbana University, I did not know what to expect. I guess you could say I figured it would be exactly like in the movies, there would be long lines and all you have to do is pick the classes you wanted. I came to find that it was nothing like the movies. There are several things that you need to do in order to register for classes. First, you have to do the dreadful task of getting ready. So this means you have to wake up.

This happens after you hit the snooze about three times and you get up a half an hour later than you had wanted to. Then you have to take a shower, but you will most likely have to wait for that because everyone else that you had planned to skip when you were supposed to get up is in line to use it as well. So, now, you will have to wait for them to finish up so you can get a start on your day. You should always lay your clothes out the night before so it cuts back on time when you get dressed. You should dress nicely so you can give a good impression to the faculty members. Now you have to leave on time, which almost never happens.

Second, there is the long drive. Now that you are already late, the rest of the family decides that they are hungry and they want to stop for some McDonald's. Once you are out on the road and on the correct path, you can rest up for about thirty of forty minutes. You may be woken up by the horrible music played on the channel your parents changed to when you dozed off. After a few stops to ask how to get back to the highway, you will arrive at your destination.

Next, you have to park your car about three miles away from the building you have to be at. Once you enter the building you will have to stand around for about twenty minutes and figure out that you are not actually in line. Then you have to fill out about ten forms all having the same information. They all ask for your name, address social security number, and birthday. After you go through three other lines, they send you back to the line that you were already at because you forgot to fill out a form that you really filled out. The fourth thing that you have to do is walk across campus to another building to fill out the same exact form another three ties just before they send to a room full of people that you don't know to take the standard tests.

Then you sit at your computer and try to get it to work and they tell you to go to another computer, just to find out that the new one they sent you to doesn't work either. Now, you are sent to the smaller room next door, with some more people that you don't know, and you will have to use a computer there. After you take the test, you are sent to your advisor that tries to pressure you into taking chemistry because she is the professor and you received the highest math score out of your group. Then you pick the classes you want to take.

After you figure out your whole schedule, you have to take it down to the office where the lady tells you that three of the classes that you picked are closed and you have to pick different classes. This is not a fun task because you have to go back and forth a few times. Once you get your schedule, you have to get in another line to make sure that all of the financial details are worked out. This is an easy process. The only thing is there are three more lines and three more forms you have to fill out, and yes, it is the same information, once again. After the last line, you make sure your housing papers are filled out and meet the requirements that you desire.

Following all of this running around, you have a little time to get yourself a small snack that the faculty prepared for everyone. Once this is done, you may go to your "home sweet home".
