Time Management example essay topic
In addition, sometimes you have to set aside the things that are least important and do the things that are useful and helpful. When you get out of your last class you say to yourself, "Well I could save my homework for later on and do it after I come back from the mall", but you shouldn't proceed with that thought always do your school work first. Getting your work done early will prevent you from having a headache later. From personal experiences while here at Ashland University, I can admit that I have made some unwise choices on homework. For example, everyday I get out of class at about 1: 50 p. m... On some days, I have excess homework and instead of going into my dorm and getting the homework done, I will go to the other girls' rooms on my floor and laugh, and talk until about 7: 00 p. m...
Consequently, none of my homework gets done. Nevertheless, it always work out where whosoever room that I am in nine times out of ten they have completed their assignments and they have the free time to sit around and laugh, and go out to the mall and things like that. Also, when you are going out with a friends late at night and have nothing done as far as homework, know that most of the time they have their work done, and you " re the one who is stuck having to go back to your room and do class work that should have been done earlier. "Work before play" is to your benefit if it is done properly.
Nonetheless, time management is always a difficult turning point in college. However, with practice this is something that will come naturally with time. Many campus activities can also interfere with schoolwork however you must set these things aside and focus on the important things first. For example, last Thursday I attended the BSU bowling night at King Lanes Bowling Alley. However, before going bowling that night I touched none of my homework, and I didn't get back to the dorm until 11: 00 p. m... By that time I was totally exhausted; and I still had to stay up so that I could complete the homework, from the past two days.
However, this night was filled with fun and competitive bowlers trying to compete to win. On the other hand, all of my work should have been done before attending the bowling event. Yet, I chose to play and this was an experience that will never happen again. Time management is one of the most promising steps to a promising future. Make the right choices and take the correct steps and time management will lead you to a road of success. Lastly, you have to set aside the things that are least important and concentrate on the things that matter.
From personal experience and seeing other people manage their time wisely. My cousin who is 23 and a recent graduate from Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi, is extremely unorganized. My cousin started attending Jackson State University in 1999 at the age of 18. Many people in the family were giving her the college lecture and how it is and that college is not a joke. They told her that time management would become her best friend because this will become a routine that she will have to adjust to and also make her best friend.
My cousin was young and hard headed and was basically listening to nothing that my aunt had to say and thinking of all the parties she could attend and all of the guys she'd meet. The first week went really well for my cousin she was getting A's on her test and studying as hard as possible and dedicating herself to her schoolwork. Well the next couple of weeks she started to skip class to go to see this guy she met in this fraternity and go to parties afterwards. Needless to say her grades did a 180 degree turn and went from A's the first week to D's and F's for the rest of her freshman year.
She ended up pregnant by this guy. Well as time went on and she discussed things with my aunt my cousin realize that the social hours that she thought was a night full of fun was nothing more than a life long lesson. Although this setback occurred, my cousin still made a way to concentrate strictly on her schoolwork and her child, nothing more, nothing less. She saw that all of the partying and gatherings that she was attending her first week in school up until her second semester wasn't worth it.
However, my cousin says, "I have no regrets about my child I. just have regrets that I was silly enough to totally disregard my school work and class to ditch and be with a boy at a party". While this all took place she is now married to the guy she met in the fraternity and her daughter is now three years old and she is happily stable in a job as a computer analyst. So sometimes things do get in your way of doing work but my cousin is a witness to whatever goes wrong during college life you have to be bound and determine to bounce back on a positive note. Time management is one of the greatest downfalls of most college students, although it is the most important to success.
This is why often many students do not continue because they set too much before them without considering the schoolwork to succeed. Many might be saying that with time management, you are not able to do anything fun? But this is wrong. Get the promising things done first that will lead you to success then go out and have fun. As seen with my cousin, anything is possible as long as you are bound and determined. Time management can lead you to a positive and successful lifestyle.
