"The Declaration Of Independence" is a document formed to free America from the British rule, It is a very important mark in our history. In the "Declaration Of Independence" there is a line in there that says " life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness", this line can mean what the good life could be and can be compared easy to now a days thought on life and America. "Life", the way that you say you are alive, back when Jefferson wrote this line I believe he meant that you as a person have the right to be alive and do your own thing to survive in this country. In today's way of life I think that is means the same thing and you can live a lot with a lot more freedom today, dealing with less discrimination, and with a lot more newer technology. Life is a very valuable thing after 9/11 I think that people in the local New York area realized this more and began to come together, back when Jefferson wrote this line the war just ended so I guess that you can say that America was kind of in the same boat because they just came together to beat Britain, but they did not have the ties are the closeness of a country that we have today.

In today's world we take life for granted and after 9/11 I think it changed us a little bit for the better. Most of the times when I think of "Liberty" I think that it means freedom, or privileged to live in America free to do whatever you want. I think that Jefferson used that word when America was not being controlled no more and America was under its own control. It could have meant that the country was privileged and was one of the country's that was free and that could get some power by growing stronger. In today's world "Liberty" has basically the same meaning except that the people of America today don't know how hard it was to fight for the freedom that we have today.

"The Pursuit Of Happiness" is a very popular fraise when Jefferson wrote this in the "Declaration Of Independence" he meant that you can do what ever you want to be happy and try hard because there are many ups and downs in life and you do your best to live happy. Today I think it means the same thing just do your best to live happy whether It be rich or poor just try to be happy. The only thing that might stop some people today is all the laws that got passed, but if you are a good strong American you should have no problem. After you have seen the differences in the past and the present I have come to the conclusion that the line "life, liberty and the pursuit happiness" basically has the same meanings back then as it does now, due to the time of war back when the document was written Jefferson, in my eyes have the same basic meanings for today.
