Topic For A Writing Assignment example essay topic

No Net In Room Information. We all need it to carry on with life. Imagine living without having any idea as to what is going on in the rest of the world. Would you be able to write a report if you could not conduct research as you normally do? What would you do if you were no longer able to communicate with your close friends and family?

This is what it has been like for many residents of Bowman House for the last couple of days. Somehow, our internet connection has ceased to function properly. This one event has affected me in more ways than I ever thought it possibly could. Everything from what the subject of my papers will be, to how much I communicate with my friends and family has been affected by this change. The information made available by the internet proves to be extremely helpful when writing any report. Unfortunately, this information is unavailable to me at this time.

Research is not always an easy task, and for me right now, it seems to be impossible. Needless to say, the topic I wanted to write about two days ago is no longer an option. This does create some stress. All of the p rewriting I did in class is now useless, as the topic I was brainstorming for I am no longer able to research easily.

Communication is a very significant part of my life. It is important to me to know how my friends and family are doing. With the internet, we are all able to communicate quickly and cheaply. Right now, I have absolutely no idea how any of them are doing. Several of my friends have been having bad weeks, so I have no clue if it is getting any better for them. This puts me on edge, because I care about my friends and want to know of any major crises in their lives.

Besides my friends, I am no longer able to correspond with my family. Fortunately, they can contact me if there is any sort of emergency. However, I do miss the daily communication we had. Some of my professors intend to send email for assignments, notes, updates, and anything else. I sincerely hope none of them have sent me email in the last couple of days, as I have no way of knowing if they have. In a way, I am cut off from the rest of the world right now.

New Orleans could fall into a sinkhole, and I would not know until at least a day later. I enjoy knowing what is going on in the rest of the world. Current events are an important part of life, and I feel we should keep ourselves updated. Until U.I.T. fixes the problem, I won't know what is happening off campus.

Being uninformed is not the worse thing that can happen, but it would be nice to know who is doing better in the presidential race. Despite all the negative aspects of not having the Internet, there are some good ones as well. As much as the Internet can be a useful tool, it can also be a distraction. It is very easy for me to get online and just chat with some of my friends, or go to a website and spend hours at either.

Without this distraction, I am able put more focus on my assignments. This is very positive, which sharply contrasts all the negative affects of not having the internet. These past couple of days have been different. It is amazing how much one thing can affect your life. I never thought I would become so dependent on the internet that I would miss it if I couldn't use it for two days. Not being able to do research left me no choice but to change the topic for a writing assignment.

Until the connection works again, I will not know what important events have occurred off campus. Hopefully, U.I.T. will come soon, and I will be able to receive all the information I need to make my life go back to normal.
