Dear Mr. Gipson, I really enjoyed your book, Old Yeller. It was wonderful and taught me a lot about life. It also had great details and made the reader urge on to read after each chapter. I also had some favorite parts above all the exciting scenes in the book!

One of my favorite parts is when Little Arliss was in the family's drinking water. He had been trying to catch a bear cub. He had it be one leg, screaming in terror of what he saw. The mother bear was charging at Little Arliss, and there was Travis running in one direction to save him and his mother in the other. They wouldn't make it. OldYeller then came to the rescue and saved Little Arliss, creating a strong bound between Travis and the dog, which would never break.

My second favorite part is when Travis was going to a cave. While he was going there with Old Yeller at his side a bunch of pigs, five regular pigs, three sows and couple of bar' hogs to be precise. As they where trying to mark them both Travis and Old Yeller got attacked, Old Yeller tried to save Travis, and almost died. They both get hurt badly, and need to recover. And my most favorite part is when Old Yeller's pup comes running out of Travis and his family's house, squealing like his father, carrying a piece of sour dough, just like his father would have done. Even though your book was great there was one scene I wanted to change.

It was when Travis threw a rock right at OldYeller's head, hitting him square in the for head. I thought it was a little mean, and maybe the rock should of hit him some where else instead. From,.
