Tuesday, September 11, 2001 started out as a normal day. As most of New York was heading out to work or already there, nobody was thinking of the great tragedy that would take place that morning. At about 8: 54 a. m, a commercial airliner crashed into one of the twin towers. About 18 minutes later another commercial airliner crashed into the other twin tower. Later both towers came crashing down. Thousands of people are feared to be dead.

Right after this happened it was learned that the two airliners were hijacked. I was in school when all of this was taking place. I was walking down the hall when I heard a girl say 'look Robby one of the twin towers is on fire' but I did not believe her so I just went to my next class. Close to the ending of that class, my gym teacher Ms. Blake said that both the towers where bombed. Soon the bell rang and I went to the window in the gym office and I saw both towers where up in flames.

I thought I was dreaming because I would never think that these buildings that where so important would be in the situation that they where in. I looked at them for about two minutes and then went to my next class. That classroom was on the third floor so I could not see the towers. Later my friend David told me that both towers fell to the ground. I told him that he was crazy because how can something so big and tall come falling down? Later on that day I would find out what a great tragedy occurred on that day.

Four planes where hijacked that day, two crashed into the towers, one hit the pentagon and the other crashed into the earth somewhere in western Pennsylvania. Now the USA has committed itself to a great war against terrorism. There has never been a good war because just the fact that there is a war makes it bad. Only god knows what the future has in store for us.

Over 5,000 people died on 9-11-01 and they will never be forgotten.
