Industrial achievements have been economically successful but they have also brought additional problem. This larger problem is the environment affects. Now many nations must change the way they are living and their industries to deal with the environment. As the 21st century began, many countries that were developing and countries that were well-developed are coming to realize that their economies is posing a severe threat to the environment. Industrialization has caused several global problems. There are many countries that specifically add to this problem.

The major countries are Japan and the US. Japan uses an incredible amount of resources for their country. They consume 10 times the amount that smaller countries like Bangladesh which is an under-developed country. (doc. 1) Developing nations only emit about a total of 26% of the carbon since the early 1950's. Many smaller countries already fear what is going to happen to the planet because they don't use the same amount of resources but they are affected by the usage in other countries. (doc.

2) The concern about future environmental problems is that if the countries that are already emitting way too many pollutants into the air continue at the same rate and the undeveloped countries catch up, there will be serious problems that will take place in our planet's slowly fading equilibrium. (doc. 3) People fear that not only are we going to see more changes in the earth if the pollution continues, but the planted for the future generations will be completely destroyed. The combined affects of industrialization such as mixes of carbon dioxide, excessive fossil fuels, deforestation and pollution, the environment have been ruined for all industrial reasons. There are some steps that have been taken to slow down and possibly stop the rate of destroying the world by means of industry.

Many countries that were a large threat have been finding different ways to go about their industrial needs. In 1998, the US Dept. of Energy made a projection to let people of the world know that the US is a main producer in the problem and other countries are trying to help the issue. (doc. 3) Other countries and companies have taken steps to help the industry be environmentally friendly. John Browne of British Petroleum decided to take the step and invest in creating solar energy instead of burning oil for energy.

In 1998, Toyota started off a Hybrid car to help the environment and since then, many manufacturers of cars and other transportation machines have done the same. Denmark now generates most of its electricity from wind power. (doc. 5) In 1997 there was an environmental meeting about "Greenpeace". The members of Greenpeace meeting pin-pointed several problems and ways to fix them. Many countries are switching to "Green freeze" which is a mixture propane and iso butene which is not as harmful to the environment. (doc. 7) These are the global problems that have risen since the 21st century because of industrialization and as well as how we as a world are doing something to stop them..
