Very First Hand Experience Of The Game example essay topic
I didn't go to the dance this week because the next day I had to run a cross-country meet and trying to stay up late doesn't work very well when dealing with running. I have learned this lesson first hand a couple times. One time I had to do a lot of homework and of course I waited until the last minute to do it. So I was up until about 2: 00 in the morning.
When I got up the next morning it is easy to say that I was a little worn out and tired. I made it through the day ok, a little out of it but not too bad. When it came to running after school, though, I felt like I was running very slowly. My legs didn't seem to work anymore.
I did make it through practice, but it was the worst practice that I had experience up to that point. Anyway, getting a good night sleep is important. After waking up on Saturday it was off to Penn State Behrend to run at a Cross Country invitational. We got there and walked around campus, which I thought was a overall nice place.
The race that we ran was about 3.1 miles long and it felt every bit that long. I started the race out a little too fast and it went down hill from there. The whole race I was in 2nd place (Bruce was in 1st), but there was always this one kid right behind me. I tried to run faster but did not have enough energy and my legs just wouldn't do it. About 100 meters from the finish line the kid passed me and I couldn't catch him. I guess I was ok with taking 3rd, but 2nd would have been better.
After the race it was kind of nice to go home and relax a little. The relaxing didn't last forever though. I have decided to try archery hunting this year and it seemed like a good time to learn how to properly shoot a bow. My dad's good friend came over and helped me sight it in and taught me a couple tricks that he uses. By the time the end of the day came around I could shoot the arrows pretty much wherever I wanted to. This took a while and by the time I got done it was time to turn in to go to sleep.
