Woodward and Bernstein Paper The press serves a big role in the media. People in society prefer the press to be an honest medium. If someone saw an article in the newspaper, and it turned out the article was written against someone, people would want that article to be honest about the criticism, and for the same time, the newspaper should have a reason for what they are making criticisms for. According to the movie based on a real story, "All the Presidents Men", the Press has so much power in what they put in the Newspaper.

Two specific characters in "All the Presidents Men", are two people whom worked for the Washington Post named Woodward and Bernstein. These two people were reporters who tried to get as much information as they could for the Watergate case. The way they did this, as two reporters of the Press, had good methods and bad methods involved. The good things they did in this movie were that they asked if they could publish information given to them for the case, and they left out what someone wanted them to omit in their paper. This is what I would like a press to be: not aiming to spoil someone's personal life. A bad method of gaining information they received, for example, is they way they invaded people's privacy at night to ask questions about the case.

If someone was called at 11: 30 at night for information of what the Press needs, that person would find that very disturbing. These are examples of what someone doesn't want their press to turn out to be. Woodward and Bernstein, as shown, have had they rights and wrongs in the method they solved this case. I like the way they respected peoples personal life, but I also dislike the way they invaded people's privacy constantly.

Their efforts soon resulted in the resign of Nixon. I find this result of Woodward and Bernstein good. They were being honest in the press, but it ended up with the president resigning. It shouldn't be wrong to show the people facts about the president that aren't even personal, to have the people make a decision of whether they can trust the president or not. This establishment in the press, I think, helped people. As long as the press is a reliably honest medium to the people, and a respectful source as well, it's a good press.
