Young Women Unlike Cinderella example essay topic

524 words
"Cinderella" appears to be the best-known fairy tale in the world, since nearly every culture has its own version of "Cinderella". Cinderella is a hard working young woman, who is mistreated by her stepmother and two stepsisters. She does everything for them, from the housekeeping to sewing, even making dresses for her two stepsisters to wear to the prince's ball. Many young women strive to be like Cinderella because she marries a prince and lives happily ever after. In reading the story of Cinderella, one sees that she is not a good role model.

She allows people, such as her stepmother and stepsisters, to take advantage of her and she does not stand up for herself. Though smart, Cinderella is repressed and she does not reach her full potential. She is not able to live life to the fullest. Cinderella is a servant to her stepmother and stepsisters. They treat her badly, even though she takes care of the house. She does not stand up for herself.

She goes about her normal routine while taking their abuse. Today, standing up for oneself can be very beneficial and often seen as strong personal trait. Young women should stand up for themselves and let their voices be heard. Cinderella was aimless with little ambition.

Without thinking of herself, she only did things for her stepmother and stepsisters. Young women should have a purpose in life and strive to make their dreams come true. Helping others is noble and should be done, but not at the expense of one's own ambitions. Even after Cinderella was married to a prince, she fell short of her full potential and really only got her out of doing the housework.

Young women, unlike Cinderella, should set goals and then strive to reach them. Cinderella is a good example of what not to do in how a young woman should live her life. No woman should want to be a slave around her home and always do others' bidding. She cannot expect that one day a prince will marry her and rescue her from her misery and hardship. Hard work without pay or appreciation is not the way a young woman would want to be treated, but if she did, like Cinderella, she would get no respect from others and probably have few friends. "Cinderella" tells the story of a forlorn young woman who has little hope, but ends up as a dream come true.

The life she leads without questioning makes Cinderella a bad role model for young women. What happened to Cinderella is not real life. They should not want to take a chance that living in unfortunate circumstances will always turn out for the best. This fairy tale is a lesson that young woman should stand up for themselves before it is too late to change their circumstances. They should use what talents and resources they have to reach their full potential and not follow the example set by Cinderella.
