The dreaded 'D' word; debt. All of us have it at some time or another, and we would all like to get rid of it. Recent studies have shown, it is more common for women to be in debt. There are many reasons why this is so. When you look into a women's closet you do not just see your everyday jeans and shirts like you would in a man's. You would be lucky if you see a few suits, ties and a tuxedo from the senior prom, but it is entirely different for a woman.

A woman's closet looks more like a department store. You have dress shirts, casual shirts, baby tees, tank tops, camisoles, dress pants, work pants, 'fat' jeans, 'skinny' jeans from the 10th grade, casual jeans, dress jeans, not including the jeans you bought to go with the sexy red top that doesn't match with anything but the red top. If you are lucky to have a walk-in closet you might have a section for shoes, belts and purses, that is, if you " re lucky! The reason this happens is because when women go shopping they don't just go to purchase a shirt or a pair of jeans; no, the intentions may be good but it never works out that way.

Every time a women picks up a shirt the first thing she thinks is, this is cute; then we have this little vision, of seeing our cute little self, in this new shirt with a nice dark pair of jeans, and fabulous pink pumps, and that's when the trouble begins. Most of us women already do have dark's jeans and pink pumps, but they are old and faded or we were seen in them two times already, and of course a girl can never have enough shoes, pink pumps at that! Just when you think it's all over, women have a sudden urge to check out the purse section, to see what's new. The first thing that catches our eye is a brown purse to match the pair of lovely brown boots we just snagged for half price when we finished purchasing the "fabulous pink pumps", that purse is a must have.

As you stroll by, you see a pair of clear chandelier earrings that you must have! You needed those earrings last night, and you know you will need them again because they " ll match with everything; it's a win-win situation! Before you know it, after all the 'sales' you snagged, you end up spending $300.00 more on your credit card, and of course, you had to pay your minimum payment at Macy's before you can buy anything else. So here you are shopping for 4 hours and spending too much. The majority of women go to the mall at least once or twice a week. This never happens to men, men always, always have extra money.

How you ask? I don't know. You wonder how, they pay when you go out to dinner, they pay for the movies, their always buying food everywhere they go, they even have poker night every Wednesday with their buddies, so how do they have all this money. Here my theory, how about your friends Joe, he always wears that ugly blue shirt at least twice a week and Mike, Mike had his shoes for 2 months. Men don't accessorize with purses and jewelry for every outfit.

They don't go shopping to calm their nerves, they rather play with their cars, they don't wear make-up or nails polish, or buy their own shampoo and conditioner; they use ours! So there you have it, women buy, buy and buy so they have a different thing to wear everyday, and look great while men stick with the necessities while they wine and dine us. It does not sound too bad, but when push comes to shove we not only stay independent and pay for our bills, we work hard, and go through PMS once a month. We deserve to pamper ourselves in every way possible, hell we earn it!
