Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets J.K. Rowling Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets is a book about a young wizard named Harry, in his second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry had just turned 12 and was living with his Aunt and Uncle because his parents had been killed by a very powerful dark wizard (in the first book), Lord Voldemort, when he was a baby. Lord Voldemort had tried but failed to kill Harry, for when he stroked him in the head with a killing curse, Lord Voldemort lost all his powers and Harry had been left with a mere scar in the shape of a lightening bolt on his forehead. The Chamber of Secrets begins with Harry's worst birthday ever because his aunt and uncle had forgotten that it was his birthday and they were terribly mean to him all the time. Late one night Harry was visited by a strange creature, Dobby, a house-elf, telling him not to return to Hogwarts because if he did, a terrible disaster would occur, and that something so terrible did occur.

Harry went to Hogwarts finding a very snobbish new teacher and something even more dangerous, The Chamber of Secrets has been opened. The Chamber of Secrets is a chamber far below the school and can only be opened by the heir of Salzar Slytherin, one of the founders of the school and the Slytherin house appears to be the house that all the dark wizard rise out of. When Harry discovers he can speak Paraseltongue (the tongue of snakes), which is the trademark power of Salzar Slytherin and the Dark Lord, everyone in school starts to think that Harry could be the Heir of Slytherin. Soon attacks start, where people are being petrified and scared to death knowing they have the Heir of Slytherin in the building.

But the real danger starts when Ron's younger sister, Ginny, who is very fond of Harry, is taken into the Chamber and left to die, but only one person can save her, and that some on is Harry. Which harry saves her by defeating Salzar Slytherin and the giant snake. Personally I think the novel, Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets is a very imaginative and creative book. The Chamber of Secrets was not only serious at times but also funny. At practically all parts of the book it felt suspenseful and very exciting, Also imaginative.

I especially liked how descriptive she got towards the end when describing the chamber and the giant snake. I recommend this book to anyone who needs a break from reality and anyone who has read the first book so you can understand the book better. I thought it was a good book and hope everyone gets a chance to read it.
