Loving Relationship With God example essay topic
Unfortunately, our heart's isn't naturally overflowing with the love. The heart takes time to blossom because as humans, we really don't know what true love is, we only know the love the world has taught us and that love is selfish / false. We learn true love when we build a loving relationship with God and that requires a lot of patience, faith, time and God's help. At any time in our lives, we can have a loving relationship with God. Many people choose not to accept God because they are walking in the dark, which is why we say God is the light.
The people who are in the dark is brainwashed by the sin of this world and can't see truth (light). Nonetheless, God wants us to come to him as we are, right now today, not when we are rich or when we think our lives is finally in order so now we can give him our attention. God wants our attention right now. God said that if we take one step, he will take two. He said this to encourage our relationship with him and to reinforce the fact that he loves us and will never turn his back on us, even if we are living in sin. However, in order for us to truly have a relationship with God (take the first step); we must first accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.
We have to accept Christ as our Savior because we can't have a personal relationship with God as long as we are with sin. In order to make atonement for our sins, we have to accept Christ. To accept Christ, which can be done anywhere, anytime and anyplace, is taking the first step to building a relationship with God, we must confess of our sins, repent of our sins, confess with our mouth that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Savior and he died on the cross for our sins, and finally, have faith in our prayers (what we just said, or simply put, just talking to God). By following the steps mentioned above, we are considered born again Christians and can now have a loving relationship with God.
Although it is not required, Christians also get baptized in holy water to cleanse the body (flesh) of all of its sin, generally the same day they accept Jesus as their Savior. Christians prefer to do this step because Jesus was baptized to wash away his flesh sins and if he believed that his flesh should be washed clean then surely Christians, known sinners, should have their flesh renewed in the spirit by baptism. After we are born again, that is when our new life begins, and in time, with faith, the pleasures of the world no longer take precedence in our lives. God the creator becomes our main focus.
We pray daily and if possible throughout the day to stay focused and to build a relationship with God. We recite daily affirmations, such as, my heart and mind is pure like Christ's, and I am filled with the Holy Spirit. We state the characteristics of Christ so we can align ourselves with the daily affirmations and through faith, we will gradually become "Christ like" (Love). It is imperative at this point that we strengthen our relationship with God daily because if we don't build our relationship with God, we may forget God like the Israelites and go back to doing the things that are not Christ Like (commonly referred to as backsliding or not in fellowship) Although we may backslide, God still loves us and want to continue to have a relationship with us. We simply repent and confess of our sins and try daily not to fall back into the pleasures of this world. Being a Christian is simply, walking daily in love..
