He was looking out over the village and saw the oncoming storm on the horizon and the black birds fleeing and it reflected his inner turmoil. Judgement Judging the work Rain at Auvers was at first difficult as I was unable to pinpoint what it was that drew my attention to the piece. Then I looked closer and thought that emotionalism was though subtle apparent and the possible hidden meanings fascinated me. And how Van Gogh had captured the presence of the little village that was caught between the mountains.
