First of all, corset was originated from France, Europe whereas footbinding was originated from China, Asia where it was also referred to as! (R) golden lotus! Corset was used to tighten up the waist for thinner waist and to lift up the breast of women since women with very thin waist were the most beautiful and elegant for the Europeans. On the other hand, footbinding was used to tighten up the feet to prevent it from growing any bigger since Chinese considered women with small feet the elite and the beauty.

Corset was in form of underwear. They were worn inside the dresses. Footbinding was in form of shoes. From the time when the girls were young, the parents bound their children!'s feet, and put the small shoes on them.
